There were paws galore at Reflections Holiday Parks Moonee Beach last month with the park’s recent ‘Doggy Date Night’ attracting more than 100 visitors with their canine companions and raising $1,720 to support the RSPCA service at Coffs Harbour.
The money raised at the community event, held earlier this month in conjunction with RSPCA NSW, will go a long way towards providing the care, shelter and veterinary treatment for the many animals that pass through its doors.
Repeating its generosity from last year, local business, Sawtell Kitchen Centre, matched the $860 raised on the night to bring the total to $1,720.
Park Manager Kelly Shaw said the important fundraising event has become a firm favourite with the local community and park guests.
“Our surrounding community, food vendors and businesses all get involved to make our Doggy Date Night a success,” Ms Shaw said.
“It was great to see families spread out on the grass with picnics and their pups to enjoy our outdoor screening of A Dog’s Purpose and connect together through food, pet portraits, essential oils for dogs and a walk along our spectacular headland.”
“We pride ourselves on our great facilities for those guests who are travelling with their dogs, so this fundraising event is a good fit for us. We have a pet-friendly park and two dogs of our own, so we appreciate the good work that RSPCA NSW does and the value they bring to the local animal community in need.”
RSPCA NSW Senior Manager Eliza Walker said the Moonee Beach Reflections’ Park was a dog’s paradise with plenty of open space, picturesque views and a magical walk through lantern-like fireflies as part of the evening.
“Like last year, Park Managers Mark and Kelly Shaw went the extra mile to support the night and ensure the event was a success,” Ms Walker said.
“I also want to thank Sawtell Kitchen Centre for their generous donation, our volunteers, the local businesses, park guests and the surrounding community who participated and did their part to help raise funds for RSPCA Coffs Harbour.”
There are 29 dog-friendly Reflections Holiday Parks.
